A west Suffolk businesswoman who bagged a prestigious accolade from a Dragons' Den legend is aiming for an awards hat-trick following her latest nomination.
Angela Day, who owns Born to Run dog massage and physical therapy business based in Bury St Edmunds, has scooped two top awards this year and has now received a finalist nomination for a third.
Earlier this year, Born to Run was chosen by Dragons' Den star and retail magnate Theo Paphitis as winner of his Small Business Sunday 2024 award.
Angela, who entered canine therapy 10 years ago having left a senior executive role to follow her dream of working with dogs, said: "Imagine, as a service based, sole trader how excited I was to win a Small Business Award from Theo Paphitis himself.
"My prize was a tweet of my business from Theo’s to his half-a-million social media followers and exclusive access the SBS annual event and winners group."
After this, Born to Run was named Dog Rehabilitation Specialist of the Year at the London & South East England Prestige Awards.
She said the award was 'huge' and added: "For a small business tucked away in the corner of the jewel in Suffolk's crown, Bury St Edmunds, this is such an accolade because it directly reflects the respected nature of my business and skillset in getting dogs who are getting slow and stiff, or have mobility problems from conditions like arthritis, back on their feet again."
Angela has now been nominated by a client in the Animal Therapist category of the Animal Star Awards 2024.
"It’s a toughly contested category with some incredible businesses being nominated," said Angela.
