Part of the A14 outside Ipswich is to close this evening for emergency repairs on a bridge.
The westbound carriageway will be shut over Wednesday night between junction 54 and 53 to repair the bridge defect.
One lane is currently shut and is to remain closed until the full closure is installed at 9pm.
The carriageway will reopen at 6am.
A spokesman for National Highways said: "National Highways is working hard with its contractors to repair the fault and fully reopen the A14 as soon as it is safe to do so.
"Drivers are advised to plan their journeys and allow more time."
