A decision will be made next week on whether to give McDonald's permission to open a new east Suffolk restaurant 24 hours a day, despite concerns about anti-social behaviour.
Originally, East Suffolk Council received nine objections, including from Suffolk police, to the fast food giant's proposed operating hours for the restaurant in Anson Road, Martlesham Heath, because of fears over increased noise pollution, rubbish and unruly behaviour.
However, McDonald's has since agreed to a number of conditions to address these concerns, including improvements to CCTV cameras and Automatic Number Plate Recognition and security arrangements.

In addition, the applicant has also pledged to liaise with the police and the council's licensing team to discuss any concerns they may have about anti-social behaviour linked to the business.
Following these concessions, two of the objectors, including the police, have withdrawn their opposition to the plans.
In its licensing application, McDonald's said: "This restaurant understands that in extending our opening hours we have a duty to the local community and that we continue to protect our staff and customers from danger and harm.

"We believe that the systems we have in place are robust, thorough and will, as far as reasonably practicable, secure the promotion of the four licensing objectives."
In February, this newspaper revealed that Martlesham Parish Council would be writing to East Suffolk Council to oppose the application on the basis that the opening hours would create noise and disturbance at night when the area was normally quiet.

The premises, which will be in the former home of Evans Cycles, near Topps Tiles, Wickes and Tesco, is set to provide late night refreshment indoors and outdoors from 11pm to 5am, Monday to Sunday.
East Suffolk Council's licensing committee is due to make a decision on the opening hours at a meeting on Monday.
