A generous art dealer has donated a Banksy to the High Sheriff's Legacy Auction.
John Brandler has donated a sought-after Banksy Limited Edition Print, published in March 2010 by Time Out, which is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, to ensure its provenance and value.
"I am delighted to donate this BANKSY print for the Legacy Auction as by contributing we can collectively make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities in Suffolk," said John Brandler of Brandler Galleries.
Of the original 5000 prints produced, only approximately 1500 remain undamaged due to mishandling during distribution.
The print has been exhibited in prestigious venues worldwide, including the "MOMENTS" exhibition at Moyse's Hall Museum in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, from May to September 2021.
The High Sheriff's Legacy Auction aims to support local charities and initiatives.
"We are immensely grateful to John Brandler for his generous donation and unwavering support of our cause," said Mark Pendlington DL, High Sheriff of Suffolk.
"His contribution will undoubtedly bolster our fundraising efforts."
All auction lots, along with the website and online auction platform and any selling fees have been generously donated, ensuring 100% of funds raised go to directly benefit the High Sheriff’s Fund, managed by the Suffolk Community Foundation.
The High Sheriff’s Fund plays an integral part in both funding and championing the work of the local charitable sector.
The money raised through the Legacy Auction will address many challenges facing people in Suffolk including bullying, homelessness, anti-social behaviour, knife crime, and substance abuse.
Other lots include a week's self-catering accommodation for up to 16 guests at Inchnadamph House on George Vestey’s Scottish Estate, a London Theatre Break for two donated by official sponsor Chassis Cab, and tickets to His Majesty’s Royal Ascot Meeting, with other prizes from Greene King, The Jockey Club, Unruly Pig, and many other local businesses.
Bidding for the BANKSY Limited Edition Print and other exclusive auction lots will continue until 8PM Sunday, March 24th. Bidding is live online, please visit www.lskauctioncentre.co.uk/auction/details/hss240324-the-high-sheriff-of-suffolks-command-performance-and-legacy-auction/?au=848
