A Suffolk seaside Ferris wheel looking to become a permanent feature on Felixstowe seafront has been recommended for approval.
East Suffolk Council's planning officers are recommending the green light for the 34.5-metre high tourist attraction to be installed on the town's promenade ahead of a meeting next week.
The wheel was a big hit last year and would operate between February and October if it secures planning permission.
Essex-based Observation Attractions Company first introduced the 24 gondola wheel - known as The View - to the town in August on a grass patch between the promenade and Sea Road.

The ride proved popular and was believed to have contributed to a 20% increase in tourism in the town during the summer months before being dismantled in mid-October.
However, the latest plans - submitted by the company's Paul Hedges - seek to make the arrangements permanent and if approved, the wheel would become an annual feature from February to October.
In supporting the application, planning officers said: "The proposed observation wheel would be a large and prominent addition to the seafront, however its siting is not considered to be harmful to the character or appearance of the wider area.

"It would provide an additional attraction to the tourism offer at the resort helping to support the wider economy. The impact on open space would be minimal given the wider availability in the area."
They have also recommended a landscaping scheme be implemented to ensure the site is left in an attractive manner during the off season.

Last year, Kate Cain, manager of Felixstowe Business Improvement District, which represents businesses, said: "It's been a cheerful talking point and we'd wholly support a comeback next year - just make it sooner."
A decision on whether to give the go ahead will be made by the council's planning committee on Tuesday (March 26).
