A hit new Suffolk restaurant has received more national recognition after being named one of the best in the UK.
Lark in Bury St Edmunds is no stranger to high praise after receiving a number of awards since opening just over a year ago.
Now the Angel Hill restaurant has been named one of the best new restaurants in the UK by the luxury travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller.
Husband and wife duo James and Sophie Carn first opened the restaurant in February 2023 after Mr Carn left Suffolk's Michelin star Pea Porridge, also in Bury St Edmunds, to set up his own venture with his wife.
The magazine said: "A restaurant this good is a bit of a coup for market town Bury St Edmunds which hasn’t traditionally been at the top of foodies’ must-travel lists.
"Small but sweet, with poured concrete floors and bags of light flooding in, and a focus on dishes made for the table to share."
Mr Carn was recently named as the Chef to Watch at the Good Food Guide awards.
The recognition came after the restaurant was named the only Bib Gourmand destination in Suffolk.
The magazine added: "The team look to the Mediterranean for inspiration without ever losing sight of their roots, so the Suffolk land and coast are well represented on the menu, which invites diners to order a ‘Kitchen Selection’ for two, four or six to remove the hassle of having to choose what to order at all."
