A former Peacocks in a west Suffolk town looks set to become a shoe shop as advertising consent is sought from a council.
Peacocks, at 3 Gosnold Street in Bury St Edmunds' arc shopping centre, closed its doors in January and now an advertisement consent application has been submitted to West Suffolk Council for a Deichmann shoe shop to open in the unit.
Documents before the council state that Deichmann Shoes are to undertake the fit out of the shop, with proposed works to the ground floor to create a sales area, staff facilities and a stockroom.
The advertisement proposal seeks permission for new signage with Deichmann branding including a fascia sign to the front which would be 13.8m x 1.4m in size.
It would include one internally illuminated 'D' logo, and a set of 500mm internally illuminated individual letters spelling 'Deichmann', both of which would be in opal green.
Planning documents on behalf of Deichmann read: "The proposed signage is of a modest scale, an amount considered proportionate to the host unit."
