A Victorian home in Raydon, near Ipswich, has come onto the market for offers in excess of £1.75m.

Built in 1864, Woodlands Hall has been with the current owners for 40 years and selling agent Fine & Country said they have “enjoyed family life here” and have “substantially updated and enlarged” the property.

When entering the home, you notice straightaway the Victorian period features, including spacious rooms, high ceilings and stately fireplaces.

The ground floor comprises a kitchen/breakfast room, dining room, drawing and family rooms, study, conservatory and separate utility and boot rooms.

Through a set of double doors, surrounded by imposing Georgian-style architrave, is the vast drawing room, complete with fireplace and three large sash windows, which let in plenty of natural light, while bifold doors open out onto the lawn.

A family room off the drawing room offers an escape from the main part of the house, while the formal dining room has two large glass-fronted China cabinets, plus access to the conservatory.

The current owners say the swimming pool “is a decent length for swimming”, and there is also a hot tub, changing rooms and showers. This addition to the house was constructed in red brick with windows similar to those at the front of the house, blending the new and old together.

Back into the main house and heading downstairs will take you to sizeable cellar, which is currently used as storage.  Woodlands Hall also has an underground tunnel, taking you from the house to the treble garage block.

On the first floor there are five generously-sized bedrooms. Two of them feature dressing rooms, and four have en suites. The master bedroom has access to an en suite and a Jack and Jill bathroom.

Outside the drawing room is a lawn which has been called “the tennis court lawn” due to it having been used as such in the past. The rest of the 10 acres is made up of low maintenance parkland and a large woodland area.
