Two women have been left in a critical condition after a crash near a Suffolk town.
Emergency services were called to the A1307 near Haverhill at about 7.30pm on Friday.
A blue Daihatsu Sirion and a blue Nissan Micra were involved in the crash.
The road which connects Haverhill with Cambridge was closed for a number of hours while emergency services attended the scene.
The driver and a passenger in the Daihatsu, both women in their 80s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries and both remain in a critical condition.
A man in his 40s and the driver of the Nissan suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Cambridgeshire Police is now urging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them quoting the incident number CC-15032024-0513.
