Three Suffolk businesses are celebrating after winning prestigious awards.
Lavenham Butchers, Truly Traceable and Venison Game Pies and Maisebrooke Farm Shop have all won awards at the Eat Game Awards 2024.
Lavenham Butchers was named the best game butcher in the country, while Truly Traceable and Venison Game Pies, based near Halesworth, was named best game value added product.
It is the second time Truly Traceable has won the respective category.
Maisebrooke Farm Shop won best small game retailer.
Annette Woolcock, Eat Game Awards co-ordinator and BASC’s head of wild food, said: “The awards have grown year-on-year and it has been fantastic to see so many new businesses and individuals nominated, and more votes cast than ever before.
“The standard of the entries was higher than ever this year, giving our judging panel a really tough job to separate some of this year’s finalists.
“I want congratulate all of the finalists and encourage them to keep up their excellent work in helping educate people about game meat and normalise it on menus.”
