Drivers are being warned of a 20-mile diversion route while a village road is closed overnights.
The B1071, which is the main road that connects Sudbury and Lavenham, will be closed between 7pm and 5am from March 25 to 28 while Suffolk Highways carries out urgent roadworks.
While the road is closed the official diversion route is 20 miles long, according to Suffolk County Council's website.
The diversion route will take drivers through Great Waldingfield, into Sudbury, up the Long Melford bypass, along the A134 before turning off to Cockfield and following the A1141 to Little Waldingfield.
It comes as drivers are facing a 35-mile diversion route for a road closure just on the outskirts of Sudbury.
The A131 at Bulmer will be closed overnights until March 23 while Essex County Council carries out essential works.
