The organisers of a much-loved car boot sale have announced it will be closed permanently.
Ardleigh Car Boot, which pitches-up on land off Old Ipswich Road, near Colchester in north Essex, has shut down after 38 years of operating.
A statement from organisers on the car boot's website reads: "It is with great sadness we are having to announce we are now permanently closed.
"We have had many great years and happy memories along the way. You will all be greatly missed."
Back in November, organisers were told of plans to turn the land into an extension for a nearby reservoir.
They said they had hoped to find an alternative location for the car boot.
However, the news of the permanent closure was announced over the weekend.
The car boot sale was open on Sundays and was one of the most popular in the region.
It was Colchester's "oldest recorded" original car boot sale and cost 50p for people to enter.
