A new quilting and patchwork shop has opened in a seaside town to replace a vape store that closed down two years ago.

KIS Quilting, which stands for 'Keep It Simple', opened in the former Vape Store premises in Hamilton Road in Felixstowe on Monday.

The e-cigarette business closed in February 2022, with the owners announcing that they were focusing on other stores they ran, as well as planning to open new outlets in Bury St Edmunds and Manchester.

At the time, the owners said the stock, good will and client base was being sold as a going concern.

Quilter Lynn Meek has opened the new shop, promising to bring 'colour, creativity and community spirit'.

Her passion for quilting was sparked by the sight of a meticulously crafted bead spread and she has honed her skills to become an expert in the field.

Customers can expect to find cotton fabrics and complementary haberdashery, while coffee and biscuits are also provided.

Kate Cain, manager of Felixstowe Business Improvement District, which represents business in the town, said: “It’s great to see another vacant shop filled with a community-spirited venture.

"We really are enjoying a run of new enterprises on the high street to follow the fantastic footfall figures we continue to attract.”
