The aisles of Suffolk's newest Primark store are ready to welcome visitors for the first time tomorrow.
The fashion giant will welcome customers to its new 33,000 sq ft Bury St Edmunds store, in the former Debenhams at the arc Shopping Centre, from 10am on Wednesday.
The store will employ 150 people and opens as Primark, founded in Ireland in 1969, celebrates its 50th anniversary on English soil – having first opened in Derby in 1974.
Timothy Norton, store manager, said: "We've got 150 excited energised and engaged colleagues that are going to be here on day one hopefully talking to hundreds if not thousands of people at the opening moment.
"I know there has been loads of excitement around the store - if you look at some of the media coverage and social media coverage around Bury for the last few years there has absolutely been a desire and a need for a Primark here.
"We're super excited to be in this building, on this high street, in this community."
Philippa Nibbs, Primark's director of sales for London and South East, said: "We're thrilled to be in Bury St Edmunds. It is a store we have been working on for some time, none of these things happen quickly, so we are delighted that we are opening tomorrow.
"It really does complete our East Anglia story, we already trade in Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge and King's Lynn, so to be opening in Bury St Edmunds is just truly exciting."
Mr Norton said he is most excited for customers to learn about and enjoy the clothing ranges that include the 'Primark Cares' items, which make up 50% of the shop's ranges and are made from recycled or more sustainably sourced cotton.
They also stock a 'circular' collection where the products are designed to be recycled.
Ms Nibbs said: "Come and discover, there is something new and exciting every single day that we open and trade."
The shop is complete with a 'Trends Room' area, which is changed every few weeks, as well as a 'Primark Edit' area which includes a slightly more premium range, as well as the essentials, kids, homewares and denim ranges.
Primark already has shops in Ipswich and Norwich.
