A drop-in session to discuss a Suffolk town's neighbourhood plan, including the Sizewell C nuclear power station, attracted approximately 60 residents.

Leiston residents had the chance to give their views on what is important to them in the town at the review of the Leiston-cum-Sizewell Neighbourhood Plan at the community centre in King Georges Avenue on Tuesday.

Leiston town clerk Helen Greengrass said the review was particularly important because construction work was starting on Sizewell C, which would have an impact on the town.

She said visitors had the opportunity to comment on the plan using post-it notes.

Protecting biodiversity was another important issue to be included in the plan, which will provide the blueprint for how development would take place in the town.

The town clerk said further engagement events would be taking place to discuss the plan.

She said: "I thought it was a good turnout, but what really impressed me was that there were detailed conversations and that was really positive."
