A £40m turnover company has snapped up an Ipswich drilling company as it strengthens its presence in the East of England.
LDD Construction has acquired Drill Masters for an undisclosed sum.
LDD opened its base in East Anglia in 2023 and since then has secured over 70 projects across the East of England.
It recently bought an office in Burwell near Newmarket and says it is committed to investing in the local area - creating more jobs as the business grows across East Anglia.
LDD Construction Limited - launched in 1992 as London Diamond Drilling Services - employs a 225-strong workforce and is based in the capital city.
It specialises in diamond drilling - including concrete wire and floor sawing services - as well as robotic demolition.
Over the years it has diversified and expanded its offering to include complementary services such as passive fire protection, strip out and enabling services - and a full construction service through its special works division.
It provides blockwork, slab, and steelwork design and installation along with associated works.
Drill Masters Limited - also founded in 1992 - is a family-run diamond drilling and concrete-cutting business which undertakes construction projects throughout East Anglia.
The £500k turnover company employs five staff - all of whom will remain. Its owner, Wayne Youngs, stays with the business as senior contracts manager.
LDD Construction owner Ziggy Seagrott said: “We are delighted to have completed our acquisition of Drill Masters which further strengthens our presence and capabilities in East Anglia.
"LDD have established themselves as trusted subcontractors in London and surrounding areas, and we look forward to continued and sustainable growth.”
Drill Works' Wayne Young said: “Drill Masters are pleased to have been acquired by LDD. We share the same values, and commitment to delivering consistently to a high standard, and cannot wait to move forward as part of LDD.”
