Tributes have been paid to a man “whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him” after a crash near Sudbury.
Andy Rayner, 44, died at the scene of the crash on the A131 just before 10.40am on Saturday, February, 3.
In a statement, his family said: "Andy was dearly loved by Rachel, his fiancée, and was a loving father, brother, and son. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
“Andy, who truly loved his motorcycles, was a big part of the Essex Biker Meet Up Group and his presence will be deeply missed.
“All the family members and friends will miss Andy very much.”
Emergency services were called to a crash involving a van and a motorcyclist.
The driver of the van, a 29-year-old man from Enfield, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been released under investigation.
Later that same day 17-year-old Sam Parsons died after crashing into a tree along Sudbury Road in Borley.
Speaking at the time of the crashes David Holland, who represents Stour Valley South on Braintree District Council, said: "I’m sure I speak for everyone I represent in saying that my and our thoughts are with all those affected by these tragedies. Our hearts go out to them.
"The loss of anyone who should have many years of vibrant life and potential in front of them is always the cause of great sadness."
While he said he could not comment on the safety of the roads involved as the details behind the crashes remain unclear, he urged motorists to "drive with care according to the constraints of the road and local conditions".
"I personally actively work with our communities, councils and authorities to deliver improvements in road safety," he said.
