A man has suffered serious injuries after a crash on the A14 in west Suffolk which led to the air ambulance being called.
Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway near Bury St Edmunds at about 6.40pm on Friday.
Police were called to a single-vehicle crash involving a Mercedes car.
The carriageway was shut for more than three hours and it reopened shortly before 10pm.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and a response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
"A man was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a serious condition for treatment.”
