A yoga studio in Debenham will finally reopen next week, four months after Storm Babet caused significant flood damage.
The studios in Meadow Works Business Park in Kenton Road suffered damage to its flooring and equipment during the October storm.
During the four month wait for government funding to be approved and repairs to be carried out, owner and instructor Jannette Bloom had to get creative, moving classes to different community spaces.
She said: “The wider community spirit with people helping me find space to use for classes during repairs was really nice to see.
“I’m really looking forward to welcoming my clients back into the studio because they need to have time and space and something to look forward to.
“Once my clients get back in the door, I want to offer out a special thank you to them, particularly those who have had their homes flooded. They’ve been great, followed me to Ashfield Village Hall and other places I could hold my classes in the interim.”
The owner, who has been a qualified yoga instruction for six years and a pilates instructor for two, is thankful to have been able to get government funding for the repairs.
She said: “Funding has been a life saver for our business. I don’t think I’d be able to pull back without that.”
The studio will re-open on Monday February 26.
