Cars had to be adandoned after a road became flooded during heavy rainfall. 

A Mercedes and Ford Fiesta were left in Argents Lane in West Bergholt over the weekend. 

Clare Heyes, who spotted the cars, said the road was still flooded on Monday morning and one car had been removed. 

It comes after a weekend of heavy rainfall which led to a number of roads flooding. 

Colchester Road, on the outskirts of Bures near Sudbury, was left almost impassable after being submerged under water. 

The Environment Agency issued flood alerts for the county on Sunday. 

Drivers are being warned to take extra care if travelling in the areas affected by flooding.
