A gym in an east Suffolk town will expand and build a second floor to the gym, after what has been a turbulent seven months for the gym since opening.
Perform Fitness Fram has announced it will build a second floor – adding to the number of apparatus and space the gym can have.
The gym, which only opened on July 1 last year, has gone through a lot in that time, being successful until Storm Babet hit the county.
Framlingham was one of the worst-hit areas for flooding amid Storm Babet.
The gym was one of the victims of the flood, damaging the flooring and the workout equipment, with about £25,000 worth of damage caused.
Rowan Nessling, owner of the gym, said: "We had to replace everything.
"The flood wiped it all out. We managed to save some pieces of kit, but everything else was damaged.
"We managed to bounce back slowly."
Since reopening four weeks after the flood kit, with new equipment, footfall has gone back up, and it is now busier once again.
Mr Nessling added: "We were aware of how much space we had when we took it.
"We are limited on areas to exercise and workout, so we thought that it would be a good opportunity to build a second floor and really go for it with what we can offer."
The second floor is set to house a cardio section, as well have floor space.
There is also set to be a combat zone, for people to practice boxing, with more space free on the ground floor.
They are looking to bring in a boxing coach as well to offer one to one sessions and potentially smaller classes for kids to get involved.
The gym will close between Monday, February 12 and Sunday, February 18 while the work is undertaken to expand the gym.
