Inquest proceedings have been suspended into the death of a man who died after being stabbed in a village near Woodbridge.
Richard Hunt died in Ipswich Avenue in Sutton Heath, Suffolk Coroners' Court heard on Friday
The 37-year-old, from Ipswich, died on October 8 last year following an alleged altercation with another man.
Police were called to the incident at 8.59pm on October 8, with officers arriving on the scene 15 minutes later.
Upon attending, they found Mr Hunt outside the front of the property, having suffered stab wounds, the court was told.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to a mortuary in Ipswich.
A 42-year-old man, Jay Cotterill of Ipswich Avenue in Sutton Heath, has been charged with the murder of Mr Hunt.
He has denied the charge.
Cotterill has also been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm in connection with an assault on a woman, which is also said to have happened on the same night, but Cotterill also denies this offence.
His trial is to begin at Ipswich Crown Court on May 13 and is set to last three weeks.
Mr Hunt's inquest has been suspended.
