Police are appealing for information after a homeowner caught an intruder trying to break into a Bury St Edmunds home this morning.
The attempted burglary happened on Holywell Close at 7am when an unknown male opened the front door to the property using a key from a key safe.
The intruder did not gain entry as the homeowner was in the hallway causing the intruder to leave.

Nothing was stolen in the incident.
The intruder is described as a black male, 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothing and a red woolly hat with two MMs on the front.
Anyone who witnesses anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident or has any information relating to the incident should contact Suffolk police quoting crime reference number 37/7098/24.
