Drama students at Thomas Mills High School are currently deep in rehearsals for a new performance directed and written by professional opera singer Rebecca Knight. Knight describes it as a “Chaotic, farcical, brilliant” production which “nods to the jazz era” but has “its own special story geared towards students talents”. The new scripted musical play is a mixture of new and old, incorporating difficult techniques, comedic acts, tragedy and so much more.
On 27th March, the year 10 – 13 students will sweep the stage as they demonstrate a variety of skills, from dancing, singing and even juggling limes! Along with the participating drama students the performance will be accompanied by musicians from the school, in order to open up the musical to keen musicians as well. The Staff Fundraising Team & Friends of Thomas Mills High School are greatly involved with the performance, making it possible for it to happen. During the performance a raffle will be drawn with lots of fabulous prizes on offer.
Thomas Mills is well known for its music department, and famous former student Ed Sheeran. Knight is keen on Thomas Mills “It’s a fantastic, diverse music department”. Excitement is rising as the audience get ready “to step into the world of owner Herr Mills and his eccentric clientele”. This charity performance promises to be a treat incorporating double and triple threat performers!
