A Suffolk-based marketing agency has promoted one of its own to managing director.

Tim Miller has risen through the ranks at PLMR Genesis in Ipswich after moving back to the area in 2013 and joining the company.

PLMR acquired Genesis PR from its founders Penny and Charles Arbuthnot in October 2021.

In his new role Tim will take the agency forward as the East of England flagship for PLMR, which is independently owned and ranked by national trade magazine PR Week in 2023 as a Top 50 UK PR agency.

Tim, 33, specialises in strategic PR, media relations and public affairs. He moved back to the area in 2013 from London where he was working in a local authority's PR department while completing a Master’s in Public Relations. He now lives in Norfolk and has a degree in history and politics from the University of East Anglia.

The 16-strong PR team works with East of England-based national and regional clients in private, public and third sectors.

They include Ingleton Wood, rural broadband provider County Broadband, healthcare companies Xyla Elective Care and Bramacare, the Suffolk Agricultural Association, and Notcutts Garden Centres.

Tim said he was "incredibly excited" to take take on the new role.

Penny Arbuthnot - founder and former managing director of Genesis PR until its acquisition - said she was "thrilled" at the appointment.

PLMR Genesis won five gold awards at the industry’s prestigious CIPR PRide awards in 2023, including Best Long Term Client Care for its PR, digital and public affairs work with a heating trade association.

It works in sectors including energy, professional services, health, education and third sectors.

The company's head office is in Westminster and it has regional offices in Ipswich, Birmingham, Coventry and Glasgow. Clients include Jet 2, Ella’s Kitchen, HC-One and Essex County Council. It donates 5% of net profits each year to good causes.
