A landmark hotel and restaurant has reopened its doors after more than a year closed as new owners have taken over the business.
The Great House in Lavenham was purchased in 2016 by Colchester Zoo directors Dominique and Julie Tropeano.
Due to a variety of circumstances, the couple decided to sell the building in 2022, with the property closing its doors in September of that year.
Now, the former owners of The Swan in Long Melford, Onur and Derya Ozcelik, have taken over the business, which reopened on Thursday, January 11.
"We are really thrilled about The Great House," said Mrs Ozcelik.
"The beauty of the building, the reputation of the previous businesses, the memories in people’s minds and the place it has in the heart of the community, all create a legacy we are very passionate to carry forward."
Lots of care and consideration went into the reopening of The Great House, which was a popular restaurant and hotel.

The hotel has five boutique rooms on offer, from suites to doubles to twin rooms.
"In a post-pandemic world, people’s habits, choices and needs are changing and we were very aware that we needed to adapt and respond to these if we want to run a succesful business and add a sustainable value to Lavenham," said Mrs Ozcelik.
"As we try to carry the legacy of The Great House forward, we are very aware that we cannot fill Regis Crépy’s shoes either, but we can do what we know best and start a new era, and believe this is possibly the best way to pay our respects and keep memories untainted."
The restaurant hopes to blend high-end dining with a comfortable and affordable experience, with a menu that is seasonal and hearty while creating a cosy atmosphere.
The menu will change monthly so that there is always something new to look forward to, while also creating the opportunity to react quickly to customer feedback.
"We are really chuffed as we had nothing but very happy customers so far," added Mrs Ozcelik.
Brunch and dinner are available in the restaurant weekly, from Wednesday to Sunday.
