A dog day care business is hoping to relocate to a larger premises as permission to transform a warehouse on an industrial estate has been sought from a council.
K9 Retreat Center, which has been based at 31 Wimbledon Avenue in Brandon since August 2022, is seeking change of use permission from West Suffolk Council to transform the warehouse at Unit 2 Wimbledon Avenue into a dog daycare, grooming and training unit.
The service, which employs two full-time members of staff, would have up to 25 dogs on site at any one time.
Changes to the currently-empty unit would see 1.8 metre high fencing built to create an enclosed play area.
The business would be open from 8am to 6pm, and customers could drop off their dogs earlier and pick them up later with prior agreement from the applicant.
Dog grooming would take place at the site during opening hours and until 9pm.
The unit would also be used for training sessions and socialisation.
Also installed at the warehouse would be picket fencing to provide an area for small and larger dogs, partition walls and kennels.
