One Suffolk restaurant has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards before it has even celebrated its first birthday.
Lark in Bury St Edmunds was opened in February 2023 by Chef James Carn and his wife, Sophia.
Just earlier this month, celebrity TV food critic and Observer writer Jay Rayner named the little eatery his restaurant of the year.
Now, The Good Food Guide, the longest-standing and bestselling guide to dining out in Britain, has shortlisted the restaurant for two major awards.
Lark has been shortlisted for the award of Best New Restaurant of the Year, in a category that celebrates "innovative, imaginative seasonal menus," with good a la carte options on offer as a key component.
Head Chef James Carn has been shortlisted in the prestigious Chef to Watch category.
"This year’s shortlist reflects the concentration of top talent in small, independent neighbourhood restaurants," reads the Good Food Guide.
"Each chef has their own distinctive style which is much appreciated by loyal regulars."
All of the winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 30, as well as the restaurants that have achieved a rating of Exceptional or World Class for 2024.
