A man has been convicted for breaching a sexual harm prevention order after accessing social media without police knowing.
Adam Wyles, of no fixed abode, was arrested in Ipswich on Thursday, January 4 on suspicion of breach of a sexual harm prevention order.
A sexual harm prevention order is a court order that can be requested to prevent a person from engaging in a particular activity and for positive obligations, such as regular polygraph testing.
Wyles was taken to Martlesham police station for further questioning and was subsequently charged with a breach of a sexual harm prevention order for accessing social media without the knowledge of his public protection officer.
The 35-year-old was remanded and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' in Ipswich Court on Friday, January 5 where he received a 12-week prison sentence which was suspended for 12 months.
Suffolk police initially said he was jailed for 12 weeks.
Wyles was also ordered to complete 80 of unpaid work.
