A man who became stuck in a car in flood water has been rescued.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 11.10am today (Wednesday, January 3) to reports of a man stuck in a vehicle in deep flood water.
The car became stuck on Coddenham Road in Needham Market, a road that has suffered horrendously from flooding during the various storms of late 2023 and early 2024, including Storm Henk.
The man was helped from the trapped car by a fire crew from Needham Market in a rescue that took half an hour, until around 11.40am.
Homes have been left without power across the county as a result of the storm.
Fire crews do not recover vehicles from flood water and people should only call 999 in the event of an emergency or risk to life.
