An emergency closure will remain in place in a busy road until the start of next year.
Head Lane in Great Cornard, near Sudbury, has been closed since December 15 while Cadent has been carrying out urgent works.
The road which is shut close to the entrance to Thomas Gainsborough School will remain closed until Friday, January 5.
A diversion route has been put in place but people are being warned to allow for extra time as a set of temporary traffic lights are in Bures Road, which is causing significant delays during rush hours.
