Plans to build a huge new garden centre on the outskirts of a Suffolk town have been submitted.
Perrywood Garden Centre has submitted an application that would see a brand new 3,750 square metre garden centre and restaurant built.
If the plans are given the green light by Babergh District Council, part of the existing garden centre off the A134 will be demolished and extended, according to a supporting statement.
It comes after Perrywood was granted permission to build a brand new garden centre in June 2021.
The new project was expected to cost around £10 million and create 120 new jobs.
However, in November 2022 bosses announced they would no longer be going ahead with the plans due to "spiralling costs and the increased cost of borrowing".
In a statement, they said: "These plans are no longer viable due to spiralling costs and the increased cost of borrowing.
"However, we remain committed to making improvements to the garden centre at Perrywood Sudbury."
Bosses at Perrywood did say when they pulled out of the garden centre last year that they would be looking for new affordable ways to develop the site.
Part of the new plans show that a restaurant, enclosed open canopies and outdoor sales areas will be built alongside the new garden centre.
Previously Perrywood said that once they moved over to the new site, the existing buildings would have been repurposed with the potential to be leased out to other rural businesses and organisations.
It is not yet clear if that will still be happening if the new site is given the go ahead.
