An overheated battery pack has been revealed as the cause of a fire at a Suffolk hotel.

Fire crews were called to the Jockey Club Rooms in High Street, Newmarket just after 10am today.

Two fire engines attended; one from Mildenhall and one from Newmarket.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said the fire was caused by an overheated battery pack.

The fire was extinguished and the pack was isolated from the mains and removed from the premises.
