Police are starting to check CCTV footage as part of their investigation to find a missing Ipswich man. 

Julian Debono was last spotted in Yarmouth Road in the Suffolk town at about 1.45am on Sunday.

It is believed that the 63-year-old was heading towards the London Road area of the town

A major search and rescue mission was launched on Tuesday with an eyewitness saying searches of the River Gipping were taking place

Now police have confirmed that CCTV and more physical searches are underway to locate Mr Debono. 

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "Enquiries include physical searches of the area from Yarmouth Road, which is the last confirmed sighting, as well as CCTV enquiries among other work."

Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue have also been supporting in efforts to find Julian.

Mr Debono has been described as a black man, about 6ft 1ins tall, having a receding hair line, with a trimmed grey and black beard.

He was last seen wearing a white lace shirt with cherry red trousers and high shine black shoes.
