Police are appealing after an ATM was stolen during a ram raid in the early hours at a Suffolk building society.
Police were called to High Street in Newmarket at 4.50am on Monday to reports of an incident at the Nationwide building.
A JCB telehandler was used to smash into the wall of the building society and remove the cash machine, parts of which were later loaded into a Luton van.
The van then made off in convoy with a white Mercedes A Class towards Cambridgeshire, with the JCB left behind in High Street.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said they believe four suspects were involved and were all dressed in dark-coloured clothing and were wearing balaclavas.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident and are also asking anyone who was driving in the Newmarket area between 4.30am and 5.15am on Monday and has a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for anything that may help.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting the reference 69861/23.
