A highly anticipated café opened its doors this week after transforming the former Ronies site in Beccles.

Spindler's Café had its first day of service on Wednesday, November 29, and new Front of House Manager Holly Wilkinson and her Head Chef husband Adam have celebrated a successful few days open.

The Wilkinsons secured the premises at the start of October, and have spent nearly two months of renovating The Old Dairy at 12-14 Hungate in Beccles.

"We had a great first day," said Mrs Wilkinson.

"We've got a fantastic team who have worked so hard to make our first few days a success.

"It has been lovely to receive such a positive reaction from everyone across our social media channels and we want to give a massive thank you to everyone for their support.

"We can't wait to get going!"

The café will be open six days a week and closed on Tuesdays, has been posting regular updates to the menu as dishes were finalised.

Full English breakfasts will be available, as well as American-style pancakes and filled brioche baps, between 8am and 11.45am.

The extensive list of main meals is a range of British classics, including a pot pie of the week, classic cod and chips, and steak and eggs.

The couple are 'Beccles people,' according to Mrs Wilkinson, and grew up in the town, but this is the first time that either will work in the area.

Mr Wilkinson was the former head chef at The Fox Inn in nearby Darsham, leaving to work in Spindler's full time.

The Wilkinsons' extensive network of family and friends helped not only with the work on the property, but will also be on hand to help in the first few weeks of opening while the couple "find their feet."
