A new branch of Waterstone's book shop has opened its doors in a Suffolk town and is proving popular with customers.
The shop has moved in at the former M&Co in North Street, Sudbury, just a month after signs first appeared stating it was 'coming soon'.
On Thursday, November 30 at 9am the store, which sells everything from classic novels to recipe books and autobiographies, welcomed eager customers, some of whom waited outside for the doors to open.
Grace Barrett, manager of the new store, said: "We've had some really nice feedback, we had customers waiting outside the door this morning which was lovely and a few even tried to get in yesterday while we were still setting up.
"Opening any shop you never know, you just hope for the best and it has been great so far, it has pretty much been busy all morning."
Plans for the bookshop to open a branch in North Street were first submitted in October.
Signs for the retail giant's new store, inside the former M&Co, appeared on October 30, advertising that it would be opening soon.
A wide range of books are available in the shop, including ones by local writers, and staff can order in specific items from a wholesaler if customers want something they do not have in stock.
"We are really lucky that in a bookshop you actually get to speak to someone - you can't online," said Ms Barrett.
"All of the people that we've got working here all love reading so they are always ready to make a recommendation, which is lovely.
"I think its kind of a one-stop-shop - we want people to feel comfortable so that they can browse easily."
The new store will be open at 10 North Street from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday.
Waterstones also has stores in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft.
