Police have been given an extra 12 hours to question a suspect in a murder enquiry after the death of a woman in Newmarket.
A woman's body was found in a property in Exning Road at 9.55am on Tuesday.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was declared deceased at the scene.
Two men, a 38-year-old man and a 47-year-old man, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 38-year-old has been released and will face no further action, while police are continuing to question the 47-year-old.
Detectives have been given an extra 12 hours to question him.
Police cordons remain in place in Exning Road and there is also an increased police presence in the area.
Rachel Hood, Suffolk county councillor for Exning and Newmarket, said the community had been left in a state of shock after learning a woman had died in the incident.
Suffolk police is asking that anyone who was in Exning Road between 8.30am and 9.30am on Tuesday, in particular drivers of vehicles with dashboard cameras fitted, to contact the force.
