A deli has opened in a Suffolk town after months of renovations – and many tins of pink paint.
Two Sevens Deli has opened its doors on Friar Street in Sudbury after a soft launch on Saturday, November 25.
"It was a really nice day," said deli owner Daniel Price.
"We walked out of the door at 5pm, quietly surprised and with a smile on our faces.
"It was a pleasant surprise after months of panicking."
As a self-professed passionate foodie, Mr Price knew that a deli was on the cards after travelling the length of Suffolk to find products from local producers.
"The worry is that even if you are passionate about something, there is no guarantee that everyone else is," said Mr Price.
"To have so many people come in and give us positive feedback has been really nice.
"It might not be the craziest thing I have ever done and the opening weekend validated the risk for me."
The shop is colourfully decorated but minimally stocked while Mr Price finds his feet and works out which products the customers are interested in.
"We don't want people to be overwhelmed by choice," he said.
"People will always surprise you.
"We sold out of the Fen Farm Dairy yoghurt that we were selling before the first day was out - and now we know we need to buy more of that product."
This is the first business of this kind that Mr Price has taken on, having previously run a brewery in Walthamstow in London before he and his family moved to the Suffolk market town 18 months ago.
His wife, Nicola, currently works in London but can be spotted working in the shop on a Saturday.
Two Sevens Deli will initially be opening from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
Over the Christmas period, the shop will be closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve, and then again for a few days while Mr Price and his family have a break after a hectic few months.
