A Suffolk cafe will be serving boozy drinks and hosting live musicians from this weekend after West Suffolk Council granted them a new premises license.
Barleycorn Cafe in Mildenhall had a tricky start to the year, announcing a temporary closure in January after rising costs made the running of the business unviable.
After reopening, staff illness and holidays meant the café closed again for just shy of a month in September and October.
Now, owner Shelby Foord has shared some exciting news for the business.
"FANTASTIC news!" reads a post on social media.
"We have been granted our premises license for alcohol and music by West Suffolk Council.
"We are so excited … we have an amazing bar manager lined up and a program of events!
"We launch this coming weekend so come along to sample our drinks.
"More details on the menu coming soon ... Bottomless brunches galore!
"I’m so excited!"
The Barleycorn will be opening later in the evenings, with their license application granting permission to open until midnight.
Live music can be performed both indoors and outdoors under the terms of the new license, with amplified and unamplified music, such as acoustic performances.
The bar at the Barleycorn will open for the first time on Friday, December 1.
