A woman who left without paying for £160 worth of treatments from a salon in Bury St Edmunds has called the business to pay her debts.

The staff at Ooh La La on Risbygate Street have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown to them after a woman left the salon without paying on Thursday, November 16.

The woman, who was a new client, left a handbag behind when she left the premises to get another means of payment from her car after she encountered issues paying the £160 bill.

The salon reported on its Facebook page she did not return and reported it to the police.

On Sunday, the salon confirmed on social media that the person had contacted them and made the payment owed to them.

"Due to the power of social media, the client has called today and made payment," read the post on Facebook.

"We would like to thank everyone for their support following our post.

"The amount of messages we received was overwhelming, and just people’s kindness in general has taken us by surprise.

"We would like to now draw a line under the issue from our point of view.

"This has definitely made us more vigilant and hopefully it has brought more awareness to all us small businesses, and shown that although competition is healthy, we are all here for each other when the chips are down."

Suffolk police had received a report relating to the incident.
