A widow has been left ‘distraught’ after her late husband’s beloved vintage tractor was stolen.
The classic SuperDexta Tractor (Registration Number 233URT) was stolen from a locked workshop at Birds Farm Bungalow, Aldringham, between 8.20am and 12 noon on Tuesday October 24.
It was a prized possession of farmer Michael Newson who died in June this year.
His widow Uta Stiller said: “That tractor meant the world to him. He spent years doing it up. He painted it and did everything. He spent a fortune on it, he loved it. We took it on local tractor runs. He just loved it.
She added she was ‘distraught’ at the theft and said: “It reminds me of my Mike, we’ve been on it together. It’s part of my life with him. If the general public could help it would be fantastic. It is about the sentimental value of my late husband.”
Also at the same address in the early hours of Wednesday October 25 thieves forced their way into two metal safety cages and stole a battery charger.
The police are appealing for information about the thefts and anyone who knows anything is asked to contact Suffolk Police via 101 quoting reference number 37/62408/23.
