Suffolk's only Michelin Star restaurant has been named as one of the UK's cheapest places for a fine dining Michelin experience.
Pea Porridge, in Cannon Street in Bury St Edmunds, received its first Michelin Star in 2021, the only one currently held by a restaurant in the county and the first for 40 years.
Not only has it been recognised for culinary excellence by the Michelin Guide, but also for the affordability of the fine dining experience.
"There’s a homely, slightly bohemian vibe to Pea Porridge," reads the article on the Michelin Guide website.
"The restaurant sits inside two cottages that date back to 1820 and formerly served as a bakery, with the original cast iron bread oven still in situ.
"The ‘Grizzly’ charcoal oven gets plenty of use across dishes that blend warming spices with a herby freshness."
With a lunchtime deal of three courses for £45 or three courses on the à la carte menu costing an average of £57, Pea Porridge is cheaper than lots of its competitors.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner bookings from Wednesday to Saturday, and it is recommended that diners book in advance.
