Fishing is a hugely popular past time across the country, and Suffolk is no exception. 

We asked our readers to share their list of the best fishing lakes in Suffolk where they spend the day trying to get the biggest catch. 

1. Suffolk Waterpark

Where: Loraine Way, Bramford, Ipswich, IP8 4JS

Opening Hours: Daily from 7am until 6pm

Suffolk Waterpark is a commercial fishery with four lakes to fish from including 'The Big Lake', 'Traditional Lake', 'Pleasure Fishing', and 'Jacobs Creek'.

Other facilities include the waterfront diner and a bait shop.

2. Foxearth Fisheries

Where: Glemsford Road, Sudbury, CO10 7GA

Opening Hours: Daily from 8am until 8pm

Foxearth Fisheries is made up of three lakes including the Specimen Carp Lake, Pleasure Lake, and Traditional Lake. 

Specimen lake is open all year round whilst Pleasure Lake and Traditional Lake are only open between April and October.

3. Hintlesham Fisheries

Where: Fenn Farm, Hadleigh Road, Burstall, IP8 3EG

Opening Hours: Daily from 7am until 7pm

There are four lakes on sight to suit all types of anglers: Specimen Lake 1, Specimen Lake 2, Predator Lake, and Match Lake. 

All anglers must have a current fishing licence and the appropriate equipment to fish. 

4. Creeting Lakes

Where: Braziers Hall Drive, Stowmarket, IP14 5BW

Opening Hours: Daily from 7am until 7pm

Enjoy fishing from three lakes in the picturesque countryside between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. 

Two of the lakes are suitable for all ages and are stocked with a range of mixed species like bream, roach, and tench.

5. Bromeswell Lakes

Where: School Lane, Bromeswell, Woodbridge, IP12 2PY

Opening Hours: Daily from 7am until 9pm

Horseshoe Lake is a 2 acre lake which gets it's name from being shaped like a horseshoe. 

Both lakes on site are available to be booked for club matches, corporate days, and group bookings. 

6. Willow Lakes

Where: Ash Farm, Chediston Street, Halesworth, IP19 0BB

Opening Hours: 7am until an hour after sunset (March to October only)

Willow Lakes has to large lakes well sheltered from cold winds for trout fishing.

They are currently only accepting pre-bookings for November and December.

7. Kirton Hall Lake

Where: Bucklesham Road, Kirton, IP10 0PD

Opening Hours: Open daily from 7am until 8pm

This fishery is set across six acres in the Suffolk countryside and has been disturbed as little as possible to provide tranquil surroundings. 

All fish must be returned to the lake unharmed and must not be kept for more than 15 minutes.
