People in Suffolk could unknowingly be eligible to inherit thousands- is your surname on the list of 'ownerless' estates?

When a person dies with no will or known family, their property is passed onto the Treasury and is classed as ownerless. 

New information has revealed there are dozens of unclaimed estates of people who died in Suffolk.

Estates can include any kind of property such as buildings, money, or even personal possessions.

The list is updated daily by the Treasury and featured 45 family names as of November 7, 2023.

When making a claim to an estate, you will be asked to send the government a family tree showing your relationship and two pieces of identification.
