A jury has been empanelled in the trial of a 79-year-old Suffolk man accused of repeatedly breaching a restraining order.
Before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday was Alexander Apthorpe, of The Green, Walberswick.
He has pleaded not guilty to acting in breach of a restraining order on 10 occasions between December 23, 2021 and June 6 last year.
The restraining order was made in August 2021.
The offences include sending a Christmas card and letters to a woman he is banned from contacting.
Apthorpe has also denied an offence of stalking which is said to have taken place between December 20 2021 and June 6 last year.
Nicholas Bleaney, prosecuting, is expected to open the case to the jury on Tuesday.
