Over 130 homes could be built in a west Suffolk village by next year, after councillors gave plans the final approval.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk will now begin construction of 139 new-builds in Lakenheath, as well as more than 200 new trees and a 2.33ha offsite habitat for birds and wildlife.
Ian Hamilton, managing director, said: "We’re delighted to have received the approval from councillors for our high-quality scheme at Lakenheath.
"We’re proud of the environmental benefits our scheme will offer and we also know that this site will make an important contribution to meeting the local housing needs of the area, helping families and first-time buyers to get their dream home.
"Lakenheath is an important site for us and so we will be looking to start construction work right away."
Of the homes, 42 will be available for shared ownership or affordable rent.
The scheme will create 262 new jobs in total with 111 jobs supported directly on site with the construction of new homes.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk will also be investing almost £1 million into the local community, some of which will go towards schools and highways.
Homes could be ready by the end of next year.
