A historic Suffolk hotel and restaurant which has been shut for over a year and previously held two AA Rosettes is set reopen.
The Great House in Lavenham closed in September 2022, much to the disappointment of the community.
Colchester Zoo owners Dominique and Julie Tropeano purchased the historic building in 2016, but announced their retirement in January last year.
They were forced to close the premises midway through the year due to a mix of staff shortages and health issues.
A statement from Dr Tropeano at the time said: "Staff shortages together with deteriorating health condition on my part, are the main reasons why this difficult decision has been taken by both of us.
"We can’t express how difficult it is to say goodbye to The Great House, this is an extremely sad time from a professional point of view but also a personal one."
However, the building is now set to receive a new lease of life after it was taken over by the owners of a nearby pub.
The landlords of The Swan in Long Melford have announced they will be reviving the historic venue.
"We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are now the proud owner of the enchanting Lavenham Great House Restaurant & Hotel," a spokesman said.
"This incredible property has stolen our heart, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this new chapter in our lives.
"The history and charm of this place are simply unmatched - it's like stepping into a fairytale.
"We are so grateful for this opportunity, and we can't wait to share it with all of you! Join us on this journey as we bring our love for hospitality to life in one of England's most breathtaking destinations."
