A family-run Suffolk charcuterie started in 2003 has scooped a national award for its newest product.
Suffolk Salami - which is based at Lane Farm, Brundish, near Framlingham - has gained a coveted Gold award at this year’s Great British Food Awards for its Little Oinker Snacking Salami.
The business began as a diversification at Ian and Sue Whitehead's pig farm. It now includes the second generation - the couple's daughters Rebecca and Sarah and nephew Harry.
Category judge and top industry expert Sally Abe said it was a prime example of Great British food and drink.
It delivered “a culinary experience that is truly deserving of recognition, I wanted more", she said.
As a result of the win, Little Oinker will now be promoted across Great British Food’s print, online and social channels in celebration of its achievement.
Rebecca Miles - who helps run the business alongside her parents - said: “This award not only means a lot to us as a family but for our team as well.
"They work so hard and take great pride in what they produce and receiving this award has given the recognition they deserve."
Other award-winning products made by the company include Coppa, Salami and Chorizo, all made in Suffolk using RSPCA assured pork.
Little Oinker Snack Salami is available at local farm shops and East of England Co-ops, as well as directly from Suffolk Salami via its website.
Great British Food Awards began in 2014 and celebrate the UK's best artisanal produce.
Another Suffolk farm is celebrating after it was crowned grand champion at the Great British Food Awards.
Stephany Hardingham of Alder Tree ice cream, based at Alder Carr Farm in Needham Market, said she was "thrilled" after it scooped the top title.
