A serving Suffolk police officer has been summonsed to court to be charged with sexual assault.
Kevin Horton, an inspector at Suffolk Police, is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on November 24.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "We can confirm a serving Suffolk police officer has been summonsed to Norwich Magistrates' Court on Friday, November 24, where he will be charged with sexual assault on a female aged 16 or over."
The spokesman confirmed that the officer is currently suspended.
